Franklin County Services

The Willow Domestic Violence Center provides support and services to survivors in Douglas, Franklin and Jefferson counties. In order to provide better advocacy to survivors in Franklin county, The Willow Domestic Violence Center has an office located in Ottawa. Although there is no shelter in Ottawa, the following services are offered:

• safety planning with survivors
• exploring options for survivors who are living in an abusive home
• personal advocacy with local agencies
• court advocacy
• individual meetings
• support group
  referrals
• meeting women outside of Ottawa for peer-counseling
• community education
• volunteer training
• emergency financial assistance

In addition, the Lawrence shelter and 24-hour crisis line is available to survivors in Franklin, Douglas and Jefferson counties.
