Emergency Cell Phones

The Willow Domestic Violence Center offers free cellular phones to domestic violence survivors as a way for them to contact the police in the event of an emergency.

Because of the often unpredictable behavior of batterers, these phones have the potential to serve as a lifeline in frightening or dangerous situations.

Cell phones given from The Willow Domestic Violence Center through the Dial For Help program are capable of contacting 911 as all cell phones are required by law to do even without a calling plan.

By having these phones, domestic violence survivors take an additional step in keeping themselves safe and being prepared in the event of an emergency.

Survivors of domestic violence who feel that they continue or may continue to be endangered are encouraged to call The Willow Domestic Violence Center and ask about the Dial for Help phones. Any survivor in the The Willow Domestic Violence Center service area may receive a Dial for Help cell phone through The Willow Domestic Violence Center.
